Syddansk Universitet (SDU) has merged with Ingeniørhøjskolen Odense Teknikum. Now, the university can offer many new and exciting engineering specialities in both Odense and Sønderborg.

Along with the merger, the university wants to attract 500 new engineering students over the next two years. It has asked Sylvester Hvid & Co Ltd to assist in the campaign for finding the candidates.

The campaign breaks with the prejudice that the engineer study is "nerdy". Instead, it creates an appealing universe around being an engineering student by focusing on the creative and exploring element of the education. At the same time, the campaign positions SDU as an attractive alternative to AUC and DTU by not focusing only on the study itself but as much on the study environment.

By using the "Fremtidsdesigner" campaign theme, people can explore an online universe full of inspiring opportunities and useful information. They contribute to the notion of SDU's engineering studies being innovative and important for the future.

In its first year, the campaign created a significant pride and self-understanding at SDU. As a consequence, the drop-out rate on the engineering study went down 30 percent. In the following year, the engineer line registered a net growth of 20 percent. The best result for any of the SDU university's branches of study.
