Experience economy

The experience economy is a particular area within business economics. Like in any other business area, companies doing business in this sector are concerned about positioning, market shares and growth. But companies in the experience economy differ from other companies in at least two distinct ways.

The most obvious area in which these companies differ, is the fact that their products or services are so closely related to an experience. The product is the experience, so to speak. We live in an era, where focus is on experiences. Consumer demand is oriented towards the extended product, not just the physical or functional characteristics of the product. This puts pressure on companies and their ability to stand out from competitors based on their story-telling, identity and aesthetics.

Commonly used examples of businesses in the experience economy is turism, travel, arts, sports and entertainment, but in principle, the sector embraces all dedicated to work with the extended product and link experiences to the product. 

The other main difference is, that doing business in the experience economy involves a great deal of emotion. And often great emotions. That's the reason why even small things can cause major reactions. Because in the experience economy your mind is set on the positive effect of using a particular product or service. HR Communication

Sylvester Hvid has worked with HR communication since the company was founded in 1899. Not only did we follow the development within HR communication closely - we pioneered the discipline!

In practice, HR communication is about optimizing the relations any organization creates, maintains and terminates with employees and potential employees. More specifically, it's about attracting, maintaining, developing and freeing people according to the match between their competencies and life objectives and the organizational needs and vision.

The HR effort can consist of reward programmes, employer handbook, training and educational programmes, study trips, knowledge sharing, appraisals, satisfaction surveys, office parties etc. - all with little effect without the right communcation.

CSR communication

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) expresses the social responsibility of a company in the broadest sense as measured by the actions taken and the related communication activities carried out. In essence, CSR is about companies conducting their business in a responsible way, taking into account human rights, national and international work ethics, safety, environmental issues, climate etc. In other words, CSR is the term used to describe the business and communication discipline where the company balances the interests of all its' stakeholders (often employees, owners, local community, clients and suppliers).

CSR as a management discipline is relatively new. It's about the way the company conduct business - and how it's communicated to the outside World. The development of CSR is driven by globalization, legislation and ultimately, the consumers. Consequently, CSR now has a direct impact on the corporate brand. For this reason, strategic CSR, i.e. CSR that has been implemented in the overall business strategy as a value driver, is becoming increasingly popular as a business and a communication discipline, the ground rule being simple: "Say, what you do, and do, what you say".

Media

Sylvester Hvid & Co Ltd. is a nominated agency. In essence, this means that we buy media space on the same terms as any media agency.
